Happy Lohri 2011 to all !

The 13th day of January or the date of Lohri is considered extremely auspicious by Hindus as it marks the sun’s entry in to the ‘Makar Rashi’ (the Capricorn) from the Tropic of Cancer. In other words, sun starts moving towards Uttarayan (North) from Dakshinayana (south). The earth is farthest from the sun at this time and begins its journey towards the sun. Thus, marking the end of the coldest month of the year (Paush) and the beginning of the month of Magh (January- February). Lohri also marks the last day of the month of Maargazhi, the ninth month of the lunar calendar.

Madurai from KodaiKanal

Starting up early will be nice. So we started at 9:00AM to Madurai from KodaiKanal bus stand. And reached at around 12PM at Madurai. From there we went to Madurai Temple.

Meenakshi Temple, Tamilnadu, India mntravelog

Meenakshi Temple, Tamilnadu, India

Just shocked by some boards within the temple. I don’t remember the exact. But they are like, “Only Hindu’s are allowed after this point” and “No foreigner is allowed after this point”. Well certain things cannot be controlled and explained.

This led to closure of our wonderful trip and yet another sweet memory of lifetime. 🙂

Munnar – Tea plantations, forests, wild life, valley and mountains

munnar mntravelogOur trip to Munnar was a very hectic but a amazing trip. We tried to visit as much as we can but also managed to find some peace time together :). So here are some lines that feels specials. “Explore every step, walk all roads. Hug her close, let’s nature shore you”. Our trip start point was Chennai and we moved from Madurai to Munnar by a local bus. It was a great nature experience until she started feeling that from the rock and roll ride. I tried and hugged her tight as to make her feel relaxed but all in vain. Even she took the medicine but of no use. Well lets say all her have this :P.
