Navadvip (also Navadwip, Navadvipa or Nabadwipdham) is a city in Nadia district, West Bengal, India near to Kolkata. Its name means “9 islands” in the Bengali language. The islands are Antardwip , Simantadwip, Rudradwip, Madhyadwip, Godrumdwip, Ritudwip, Jahnudwip, Modadrumdwip, and Koladwip. The islands are centered on Antardvipa (Sri Mayapur). We traveled the way across exploring navadvip nadia in ferry which was a crowded experience yet joyful.

We woke up late in the morning and rushed to get ready for the day. We again took th breakfast at the C’s and then walked to the Macfarlane Memorial Church. Which was estd. in 1891. It is situated uphill and easy viewable from almost all the places in kalimpong. As we were winding our wonderful trip so we gave a quick visit to the market place for some fruits and stuff. After visiting the quick gufa we started to the main town we also saw the Dr. Grahams Home with its own dairy, poultry and bakery. And then we reached the Pranami Temple (Mangal Dham) on Relli Road, dedicated to Lord Krishna. It is actually on downhill. And situated at nice place. From thr you can even see deolo hills. Before entering the temple we just thought it is a small temple. But by seeing the inside craft we were totally amazed. Temple has a very nice way to depict the phases of each part of Shri Krishna with the help of statues. The temple is very well maintained and garden very well flowered :). A must must see for all planning trip to kalimpong.  So now lets have some dose for eyes. Continue reading

Early morning we started from Reshyap by the 4X4 of the owner Chun Chun Bhutia (09609932879). A real stylo personality :). He first said that jeep will go by the LAVA rules chart or something then we bargained a little and it settled at INR 1600/-. Before moving to kalimpong we took a early morning walk and did some yoga. We also found a following friend in Reshyap. Continue reading

Our driver took us to Chhangey falls and then we reached to Reshyap ( thanks god we din’t track, we really do not feel that track is suitable for tracking. Quite a lot landslide and  uneven track.) and felt like we reached on top of hill . All in 360, nice n calm village, but all clouds. Continue reading

So after so many phone call we were able to transfer our booking of second day from Lolegaon to Lava. There are two ways to move to Lava :

  • Book independent taxi from kaffar bazar (bus stand).
  • There is only one bus (Mountview Tour & Travellers by H.T.D.W.A , Motor Stand, Kaffar Bazar) which moves from Lolegaon Bus stand at 12:30 PM.This starts from lava at 10:30 AM. Bus charges @ 40/- per head.

We opted for bus as we got all things cleared by 11:30AM. We reached to lava by 2:00 PM. We were dropped at lava stand. Continue reading
