“How did so many things happened in a year”.
We had just completed our first anniversary of what we started as our love MNTravelog.com – quite a lot things surprised us by then. What started of as the small log of what we enjoy in our daily, now became a great passion to share and enjoy. We had definitely the times when we were just sitting and thinking about the top bloggers. And as the time passes learnt the things the hard way.
It was 5 in the morning and we got ready for the marathon day. We were all set for the Amity Kolkata Half marathon 2012, a strong heart 14 Km run. Partner’s Kolkata’s marathon initiated by the Amity Kolkata to raise donation and create awareness for educating the underprivileged girl children.
Navadvip (also Navadwip, Navadvipa or Nabadwipdham) is a city in Nadia district, West Bengal, India near to Kolkata. Its name means “9 islands” in the Bengali language. The islands are Antardwip , Simantadwip, Rudradwip, Madhyadwip, Godrumdwip, Ritudwip, Jahnudwip, Modadrumdwip, and Koladwip. The islands are centered on Antardvipa (Sri Mayapur). We traveled the way across exploring navadvip nadia in ferry which was a crowded experience yet joyful.
Sri Mayapur Iskcon kolkata is the spiritual world headquarters of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. We did 2 day trip to explore for you. A visit to Sri Mayapur was never on our mind while stay in Kolkata.
However when planning our way from Kolkata to Sri Mayapur, we discovered that the best way to get to Sri Mayapur was through booking service provided by ISKCON House (033 64588777, 32488041). We didn’t need to think twice about booking the tickets for 10 heads :).

26 January, yet another time we celebrate the Great India Republic day. In the events of wonderful parades all across the cities in India. The FinnAir Flight surprise dance was a great joy celebrated.

It’s January the month of Hope, Wishes, enthusiasm and Power. As in our last post January is consider a month of new start and prayer in India with festival like Lohri, Pongal , Makar Sankranti and Onam . But the magic of this month is not only with India, It comes with much more importance to China. They celebrate their Biggest and Longest festival of Chinese Dragon New Year ‘Spring Festival’.
Its January that is always full of color of Hopes, Wishes and Challenges. As it comes as the start of New Year, January month comes with lot of Values. The month give a move of Spring from the chilling winters. It also mean a lot to farmers as celebrate there harvest festival. The Day of 14th January is specially celebrated as Harvest Day. Farmers devote there cultivation to God by giving thanks to him. The festival is celebrated across different arts of India. But with names , Different ritual but same feeling of thanking God. The festival is celebrated as Makar Sankranti in Norther Part of India. As Lohri in Punjab and as Pongal in Southern part of India.

As my stay in china will soon going to ramp up so I was thinking of adventures trip. Meanwhile I got an offer from my Chinese friend to join their trip to mountain. After enquiring about the mountain I came to know that Yandangshan (‘Yandang’ – as name of mountain ‘Shan’ means mountain) is china top ten must see mountain. Yellow mountain being top in list I accepted the offer and there starts the excitement of the trip. My friend told me it will be cold there so carry warm clothes. Winter has an advantage that to you can carry fewer clothes but in turn increases the weight of woolens and jacket. But our trip was two day trip so I just carried an extra T shirt and night wear with me with Lot of food as being I am a vegetarian.
